Sunday, October 2nd - Private Tour of Acropolis!

Our tour guide, Nicholaus is quite knowledgable in knowing his Greek Gods, how the Acropolis and the Parthenon changed over the centuries and who the rulers and warring nations. While it was quite interesting, I was reminded of my college mythology class that was supposed to be an easy A.....It was a lot of memorizing and crazy stories!
Nicholaus shows us how portions of the pillars were carved and then stacked on top of each other.

After our tour, we took a coffee break. Diane needed a coca cola LIGHT! That is how you refer to diet coke here. Then a tour of the museum which was complete in 2009.

By the way, one of our guides in Meteora told us that Greek Gods often have a small penis because they wanted to depict them as "delicate."
Greek Goddesses!
Walking an area called Plaka, the old historical section of Athens.

Having a traditional lunch in Plaka. Chicken/Beef/Pork Gyros, fava bean soup and a dish that had baked egg plant in it.
